Sleeping awake.
Streams of consciousness. Monologues and babies. Origins.
What do we learn before we are born? I listen to this TEDtalk by Annie Murphy Paul,
and I consider all that I have learned after-the-fact.
We hear things between the walls when we are children but adults
use big words, sometimes sounding foggy and callus.
We feel things when we are children like when we know something is
wrong with a parent, and we don't process it until we need to. When we are babies
we are primal with emotion and need; when we are adults our thoughts and needs
consume us, and we are not necessarily as perceptive as when we were children. How old do we have to be to see clearly?
I want to see my
mother pregnant and watch her live. I
want to be the child she waits for. I
want to ask her everything.

Orson Welles in Pasolini´s about Italian society and its middle-class:
I am a force from the Past,
tradition is my only love,
I come from the ruins, churches,
altarpieces, forgotten hamlets,
in the Appenines
and the foothills of the Alps,
where dwell our brothers,
I walk the Tuscolana way
like a madman,
the Appian way
like a dog without a master,
I behold the twilight,
the mornings over Rome,
over Ciociaria,
over the world,
like the first acts of post-history,
which I witness
by privilege of birth,
from the utmost edge
of some buried age,
monstrous is the man born,
from the bowels of a dead woman,
and I,
adult fetus,
wander, more modern
than any modern,
in search of brothers,
who are no more.

Sandman
On a smile
Drifting into sleep
Rolling eyes and shoulders
On that smile
With knees that curve
And stomachs that spoon,
We waltz in our breath
Exhausted.
We are transients
With legendary finesse
In sleep
Rivals to the waking world
Substituting a patriarch and its quartet.
I realize as I dream
I have only known you,
Sandman
And Child;
While you tip-toe in and out of my life
Nodding
Breezing by,
I am nameless
Unidentified
Because I was not born here
And this is not my home
But I will stay as long as you let me
Not far, and not alone.

This is your brain on Nature:
Pay attention to signs; butterflies, stones and coincidences ~ the things in
your path directing your path. Do not deter.
Explain explicitly with mode of thought.
There is no room for confusion. Step into a scene inside yourself,

My Beautiful, All-Seeing, Cousin:
I'm participating in Cycle for Sight 2012, a cycling fundraiser in support of The Foundation Fighting Blindness, Canada’s leading charity funding vision research. Please consider supporting my journey with a pledge. Your donation will help fund groundbreaking research at hospitals and universities across Canada to find treatments and cures for eye diseases that cause blindness.
Did you know? Over one million Canadians – from children to seniors – have vision loss due to retinal eye diseases, like retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and macular degeneration (AMD). This number is expected to double in the next 25 years. Your donation could change this.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this important cause.

The Facts of Fiction:
A little shanty that’s all I ask
where I can write, create and articulate,
all the things, all my dreams
interpreting a different way of seeing things;
These little lies that tell our alibis
when time and taste reinvent
all the believed and supposed feed
of prioritized make-believe;
anyone is possible -

We can create jewelry from antique flatware that has been passed down through your family, or choose one of ours. Each piece is hand made from a silver plated spoon or fork and is researched to find the original pattern name and date it was made.

Mother's Happy Weekend
Prized moments are mementos of thought
carrying us forward onto our next relay.
I am home
listening to the wind chime's sing me a song,
remembering days and times
where we all belonged.
When we were all here, laughing and smiling in ourselves
when she knew something we didn't-
What a woman,
who carried us farther than we realized;
What a woman,
who held our hands without asking;
What a mother,
who gave us more tools without saying;
What a gift.
