Five Laws for Our Times:
1. Recognize that the other person is you.
2. There is a way through every block.
3. When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off.
4. Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.
5. Vibrate the Cosmos, the Cosmos shall clear the Path.

Born Again

Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most. - Buddha

Though my work stations vary, all I ever really need is a pen and paper.
I show up and let my hands do the talking.
Today is another day of another beautiful beginning.
What matters most?
I am continually grateful for my ability to heal myself with my art.
Creativity is endless, happiness is bottomless.
Today, I am born again, happy.

Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living? - Bob Marley

Dear Friends,
As some of you know, as I pursue my art and writing career, I am also on a path of optimal health and personal growth.
I have spent two weeks in B.C. working with a few healers to get to the root of chronic back and knee pain, as well as old emotional trauma.
Today, looking in the mirror, I realize I have found a beautiful gift in the centre-Me!!

Special thanks to Perry Lea, Bio-Energetic Holistic Massage.
To see what I see, I have attached two photos of before and after.
Notice my eyes?!?!
How can I help you?

Live in your dreams.

"All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the morning to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people, for they dream their dreams with open eyes, and make them come true."
- D.H. Lawrence

It is the way you follow me
From room to room like sunlight
Through an open window
You guide me with your warmth
Treading lightly, unexplored

It is in the way you speak to me
Without a microphone
In a suggestive whisper like a child
Told new words for the first time
You are Everything, you are

But I am anxious for you
Your ability to comfort me
Care for me
Protect me from the shadows;
Can you love me?

This is my journey
This is our quest

I look into the mirror
I smile at my own reflection
Yes YES!

Review 2014 with Don Miguel Ruiz

The Four Agreements
Be Impeccable With Your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
Don't Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
Don't Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
Always Do Your Best: Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

By Don Miguel Ruiz from his best-selling book The Four Agreements.

5 tips in 5 days to write your story. Writing Tip #5

Love the process, it is a process
To train is to do.  You have to start somewhere, even if it is just writing down ideas.  Become familiar with your voice and style.  What is your message? Know your literary devices, and use your resources.

Source and resource: words, thesaurus, dictionary and editor. Tools.
Value your editor as they are your best friend, they will steer you out of the fog. Stay close and open minded.

Ideas to ease your process:
  • Know the purpose of your story in and out
  • If something is not working putting it down and revisit it tomorrow
  • Don't forget to stretch! Get up from your desk and get the blood moving. Fresh ideas flow to an active body.

5 tips in 5 days to write your story. Writing Tip #4

Give your characters charisma
The protagonist, antagonist; major and minor characters.  Every character has a role in your story and their purpose reveals the layers in your story.

Create characters with purpose and juxtaposition.
For example, the hero has a villain, the princess has a prince, etc.  We are sometimes best described by what we are not; we are connected to people who are like minded.  How can you create characters with value and purpose? How will your characters push the plot forward, or make the scene interesting?

Who is your favourite character that you created?

5 tips in 5 days to write your story. Writing Tip #3

Show, don't tell
Imply reaction, don’t just write the action.

For example:
Lisa left the room angry.
Lisa threw her coffee mug against the wall as she left the room.

NOTE: Don’t reveal too much at the beginning of your story, leave trails of mystery for your reader to uncover.  You have to want them to turn the page…

What is a page turner in your story?

5 tips in 5 days to write your story. Writing Tip #2:

Write, don’t erase
Write everything down, focus on the voice in your head. Let go. Let your fingers and thoughts do the work.

Don’t edit your work as you type, that is another task for another day.
What I have discovered during these moments of unstructured mental freedom, is a beautiful web of forgotten story that bubbles to the surface when I wasn't looking.  Don’t underestimate your mind. When you relax your need to know, your outcome will find you.

Just write. Get it out. Let your fingers be your wealth of discovery.

What have you written lately?

5 tips in 5 days to write your story. Writing Tip #1:

Who are you?
I am writing my story, full of monumental ups and triumphed downs.   I have discovered, underneath these layers and in their dark pits of self exploration, that I have something to share and an incredible voice to share it with.
This same voice is in you.
So, who are you?
…Take a breath now, ahh, begin again
Open your eyes please
Turn your smile on
Realign with now as well
You start freaking out
Wishing you were peaking out
Hold it together now
Turn your smile on
Turn your smile up bright…

USS, Yo Hello Hooray

Make a list of 5 values that best describe you.
These values create the carrot that dangles in front of your life and what you strive for achieving and being. Don’t just make observations, create a list with intention.  How do you want to feel every day? Who are you?

I made my list, what is yours?
